Melt crayons on your favorite die cuts for a great new look for cards and layouts! Card front used in the tutorial is available (.ai, .svg, .wpc, .knk, .gsd) from Just Laury at Paperthreads.com [LV00099]. Music comes from Musopen and is from an old 78, credits on the video.

  • You have me curious. Acid free alcohol based craft glue that is cheap. I will have to check my glue collection. I have the blending solution. It sounds like copic blender solution might work too. I did try dura clear and that came out good. I might give this a go tomorrow. Thank you for the comments

  • My favorite way to seal the wax is to thin a small amount of alcohol-based, acid-free glue with an acid-free alcohol-based solvent (I used Ranger's alcohol Blending Solution as well as small amounts of alcohol inks, especially if I did a monochromatic diecut) and paint over it! (You can do this in more than one layer.) When it's slightly tacky, I dust it with a bit of mica powder (I used Perfect Pearls) for a luminous effect. Try it!

  • I love this technique! I have a lot of crayons and have a travel iron to use it, but I'm considering and close to buying one of those hot beeswax stylus tools (I found it slightly cheaper than the clover on the Joann site) for that purpose!

  • very creative! thank you for sharing!

  • Love the look with the die cut. Have a Joann's coupon coming up next weekend for 50% off. Finally going to pick up that Clover Mini 2. Can't wait!! Thanks for the video.

  • great technique!!
