To President Barack Obama, One Ann Nixon Cooper is the African American woman elder in Atlanta who, at the age of 106, cast her vote in the 2008 Presidential Election. To the Spelman College community, Mrs. Ann Nixon Cooper is the Wisest of the Wise among Women of Wisdom in Spelmans Independent Scholars (SIS). Each year, since September of 2003, she has given us her stories and embraced us with her love. The privilege of receiving gifts from Mrs. Cooper and other elders in SIS inspired celebratingelders.
