  • musikguru1,

You are the moron here! First off no one has recorded all of the piano literature. Second, he can obviously play piano even though you don't like his playing. Can you play all the music he does? He has recorded on Liszt's piano in Hungary, Have you? I don't think so! The shame is all on you for making such stupid comments. You are the true definition of a real ASSHOLE! FUCK OFF!

  • Why all musicians enjoy to critize others... just sit, listen and enjoy the music... done by a 12 year old student or by Jeno Jando....

  • it really doesnt matter if he played some parts wrong or whatever. the point should be that when you listen to a piece you should become so involved and wrapped up in it that it doesn't matter. thats the magic of music.

  • Amerikaner haben einen Knall. Liszts Mephistowaltzer in einer Kirche...

  • Many have commented on his "mistakes" in this particular recording. I wonder if it's because of the poorly tuned piano that makes it sound like a mistake? And so what if he made a mistake? That just proves he's as human as any one of us!

  • I am thrilled to hear this man perform. I just found out he is my mother's cousin, I hope to contact him and acknowledge our family ties. What energy and the scope of his work is incredible. Thank you Jeno for sharing your talent with the world. I am proud to be remotely related to such an accomplished artist.

  • This is by far the BEST Mephisto Waltz interpretation I had ever heard!

I almost forgot to breath while listening...

  • WOW this is really amazing - what a great pianist!

  • but if your problem is that he isn't authentic enough to the composer's intentions (rather than you know, what sounds good), then don't worry; i'm sure the piano professor of the franz liszt academy of music at least kinda knows what he's doing a performance about

  • @hedegaard8 if the only difference is between something as semantic as calling it either a "rendition" or an "interpretation" then who cares? or would you have preferred he list every deviation from the written score in a critical edition before hand? if his interpretation (or inability to decide precisely which word he wanted to pigeonhole his performance as) twists your panties so badly there are thousand recordings that sail right up your street

  • @ChibiRaikou You need to use a dictionary, and distinguish between "rendition" and "interpretation". Here I was making remarks about "rendition" and you're replying as if I commented about "interpretation." Also, in order to do interpretation, it 'kinda' helps to first know what you're doing an interpretation about, hence to practice renditions. You seem confused, but hopefully my response helped you a little on your way :)

  • @hedegaard8 who cares if an interpretation is "rude"? the sheet music's still there in its original pristine state, ready to be interpreted in the same boring "authentic" fashion by a million other students thanks to people with your limiting attitudes, quit your bitching
