I found that I qualified for a few, and received a nice one from a winery for Italian studies. However, there were no grants for an employed person living check to check not on government handouts, and next to zero scholarships in a public university for a Caucasian woman. So I went the route of a private university which had many for dedicated financially disadvantaged students of ALL races. Not just African-American, Asian, Pacific Islander and anyone south of the border.

I also agree. I feel like people dont need to feel like they should have to be on free assistance all their lives. They should try to make things happen for themselves. Thats what my parents did and thats what i'm doing now with my girlfriend/fiance. She is from Japan and knows little english but i help her with her english. Were trying to make a decent foundation for ourselves and get good paying career jobs so when we do get married and have a family our kids won't have to struggle.

At my high school i atended there were so many scholarships for college and the only requirement was to be of latin heritage and man i have to admit there were a lot of hispanics who didnt take advantage of that. I did and thats how i'm able to attend college.
