This is one of my favorite movies !

It's not perfect, but still wonderful, overall.

This is a film that should have been made.

It doesn't matter how it stacks up to Wilder's other films

or what he thought of it - Tchaikovsky hated The Nutcracker.

If the film seems too long, maybe it's not funny or interesting to you. As for me, it is a delightful pre-Fawlty Towers hotel romp. Wilder made better, but this one is a hidden gem too. Rent it if you can. You bet your sweet. . .

Look kids, we all love Billy Wilder but this film, although not without it's moment to moment charm (beautiful setting, musical score, radiant Juliet Mills, excellent Clive R performance) and occasional wit, is just an overlong dud overall. And Billy knew it too. So please stop trying to elevate it.
