Being decadent is not mutually exclusive with being repressed.

We are far too permissive and overy-sexually in society today. Especially with young people. Yes, this does have a negative effect on people.

And just as other 'cultures" allow nudity, our "culture" gets to decide it's own values, as you say.

We're probably too permissive with boys. With girls we go to the opposite extreme. I think that's why American parents have so much trouble with teenage daughters.

Thanks for posting. I agree that that people are too uptight in the US. I've learned a lot from people from other countries when I compare them to people that have grown up in the US. I am sickened by so many things about the US, but knowing that there are people out there like minded gives me some kind of peace and hope. So thanks again for posting.

Its not he fact we're Too permissive with the,, its just they aren't having the Dangers of unprotected Sexual Intercourse forced down their throat like Abstinence and stuff like that is forced down a lot of kids throats in the relligous states (Sickening Reall, I as I, a teenage boy, live in virginia.) I also feel We are overprotective of all our children as a whoel, really. Japan and other countries think so, too.

the problem with America is the break up with the family unit, I can't figure out why that is, probably because the media and music is always depicting woman as whores and its ok, I don't think has anything to do with naked pictures

we, Americans, speak out so loudly about simple nudity and yet we promote sexual nudity in so many ways, in advertising, film & to raise ratings. Simple nudity is not wrong, it's natural. There's way too many other things to be concerned about like what we as a species has done to the planet, the insanity of wat, etc, etc. Nice commentary.

Was Michelangelo having a subtle dig at the scriptures? I've always thought that Eve's face was unnecessarily close to 'the serpent'. What were they doing before the apple appeared? Mikey WAS known for his irreverence and humour.
