  • nicely done... how long did it take you to balance... I've been trying for a few days and can't do it..... any tips?

  • @asiegel1202 what camera are you flying? and what sled?

  • @markbaluk canon t2i, kit lens (18-55mm) with glidecam 2000 pro

  • @asiegel1202 Alright, well your issue is weight. I have a follow focus with 12" rails which adds a lot more weight.

When I used to use my small canon handy cam, i had a small steel plate. it weighed maybe 2-3 pound. i put that ontop of the Glidecam. But seriously, the heavier the smoother.

MORE weight really equas better performance out of the glidecam. But it also requires some extra work on your wrist muscles.

  • @asiegel1202

If you're having troubles balancing the t2i with kit lens, add more weight ontop (and therefore below as well.)

Make sure your vertical drop/hang time is 3 seconds or around there.

Read thru your glidecam manual for sure. make sure you understand the concepts clearly. it will help when balancing 10x.

from scratch it would take me about 3-4 minutes to balance the glidecam with my current rig.

  • @asiegel1202 i myself have tried balacing the glidecam 2000 with the t2i and kit lens before, its very hard cause its so light that anything can mess it up, and it just doesn't move and cope well with your physical movements.

    add weight!
