If you're thinking that taking out loans will help you to get an education, you may be right. But what you'll learn may also surprise you. Many college graduates are learning that the reality of the "American Dream" is actually a nightmare.
Unless you want to ruin yourself financially, DON'T DO IT!--DON'T TAKE OUT LOANS IN ORDER TO GET A COLLEGE DEGREE! Seriously, there is no guarantee that you'll get a job, much less a high paying job, upon graduation.
There is also (and few people are talking about this) a tremendous amount of discrimination that college grads have no control over. Women, for example, typically are hired for dead-end clerical jobs that prevent them from ever gaining positions of power within most companies. Students who come from poor or working class families typically don't have the "connections" that are so important for obtaining the really good jobs. Minority students of color face the "dead end job" dilemma that economically oppresses women. And some employers conduct credit checks on potential employees, leaving some college grads with student loan debt unemployable!
Knowing all this, graduating from college can leave you with tremendous debt that can not be eliminated by bankruptcy. Even if you find yourself homeless, you will still be required to pay off those loans. Sallie Mae, contrary to popular opinion, is a for profit company. Lenders can sell your loans, add interest and fees onto the balance and make huge profits if you are unable to pay off the loans on time! This is much worse than the home foreclosure scandal.

GO TO TRIAL!!! Prove that the loan company gave you a fraudulent loan!! The loan company never had money in a vault to loan you...The company just typed a number into a computer. The loan is null & void.

@GoldmannSucks Yes, I'd leave the country in a heartbeat, as I think the US is going down like the Roman Empire, but it's not so easy. One needs a Visa, money in the bank, etc. But that is a good point. Most developed countries do provide university-level education for free. That's why so many countries are ahead of the US in education and progress these days.

I never went to college, I took a job as early as possible and worked when most people would be in school. I saved as much money as possible during that time and invested in the stock market after the crash. I now own a home and don't work.
Had I decided to go to school. I would have nearly $100,000 dollars in debt be paying $1,100 a month for the next 30 years and bringing home less than minimum wage after debt payment.
It disgusts me that getting an education is a poor life decision.

Or are you trying to please your parents?
Also, most people get jobs with loan forgiveness, the peace core is great.

SCAM SCHOOL
Career Education Corporation which owns IADT, AIU, CTU, Le Cordon Bleu, Sanford-Brown and others is being investigated by the Federal Government and could close more schools.
There are numerous student investigations and lawsuits along with shareholder investigations and lawsuits. It appears CEC has been running for-profit degree mills.
You could be entitled to a refund.

What's the purpose of the hearing?
dinche1 2 months ago
@dinche1 They offer you the chance to request a hearing but they can deny your request. They wrote me back and told me they denied my hearing because it wasn't necessary. They made a decision on their own--without a hearing! It's unconstitutional, of course, but that's what they did.

Not everyone can major in "science or medicine," and not everyone who majors in those fields is employed. Many college grads with so-called practical degrees, like nursing for example, have been laid off in this economy. There's never a guarantee in the US that one will obtain a high paying job with a college degree--no matter what one's major. It's fascinating to me that people who are unable to form coherent, legible sentences are the ones who criticize us college grads, lol!

Cramsa, not sure what u mean by "CRIDIBLE"& basket making" isn't taught in college, lol. Your comment is barely legible. My guess is u hadn't gone to college? And u obviously aren't an English major. Liberal Arts majors r needed in r society, as ur post clearly demonstrates. We need ppl who can communicate well, ppl who can read & write well. What do you mean by "use cash or money"? Huh? It costs over 30K per year to attend most colleges today. Most ppl can't afford that.

Please, anyone who posts here, think before posting. No personal attacks! We can disagree without attacking. It's really quite simple. Just say, "I disagree because..." I'm considering disabling comments altogether. Was hoping for meaningful dialogue--but I guess that's too much to expect from youtube! If you can't be intelligent & thoughtful then just don't say anything at all.

@PurrGrrl Also I don't believe in censorship yet I don't like to spread about misinformation or propaganda either. If you want to make a statement that is blatantly untrue just to start an argument, please just go elsewhere. I simply want to inform people here, to get people involved, to get people thinking and caring about their world again.
