Which gag are you talking about? The one with the booby-trapped piano? That one was later used (along with the same piece) in two other cartoons, with Bugs Bunny being the intended victim. First, he was supposed to play it on a piano (like Snafu) rigged by Yosemite Sam during a mayoral campaign, and another time on a xylophone rigged by Daffy Duck during a vaudeville act. The gag was later used in an episode of "Animaniacs" featuring Slappy Squirrel.

This is my favorite of the Private SNAFU vids. From start to finish, it's a masterpiece. The way Snafu's oblivious to the "ladies" is comedic gold.

I just found out today that Doctor Seuss worked on the Private Snafu series with Chuck Jones and Friz Freleng. They did a bit on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's The Current motivated by the success of Horton Hears a Who.
