Event to mark change in ownership of the legendary Miamisburg Hamburger Wagon. Event Date: August 7, 2008. Place: Miamisburg, Ohio, USA.

The Hamburger Wagon has been a Miamisburg institution since 1913. It was started by Sherman "Cocky" Porter to feed the relief workers dealing with a devastating flood which hit the region that year. The charitable Porter also provided free meals to the townspeople whose food supplies had been washed away by the flood.

The hamburgers were so popular that Porter began selling them after the floodwaters subsided. The wagon has been in continuous operation since that time. The recipe used today is the same one Porter formulated in 1913.

The new owner would like to assure all loyal customers that he intends to honor the traditions of the Hamburger Wagon. Before he was the owner, he himself was a faithful customer. This little Wagon has been around almost 100 years. It's endured two World Wars and the Great Depression. It has thrived while the big burger chains dot the map from coast to coast. Why make changes? The new owner will continue to provide the great tasting hamburgers which generations have loved.

  • Miamisburgers rock!

  • Best burgers in the world

  • Hamburger Wagon burgers are fantastic! Well worth whatever they are charging for them these days. No fussy stuff just the pickle and onion, and nom nom nom before you know it you've eaten three or four.

  • These are the world's best hamburgers. I got hooked on them when I had a University of Cincinnati engineering co-op job in Miamisburg in 1975, and I've been driving up from Cincinnati (about an hour) about once a month ever since. No ketchup, no mustard, just pickle and onion and a distinctive and addictive taste for about a buck. You'll need three if you're old like me, or five or six if you're college-age. Be prepared to wait in line.
