2005 yamaha yzf-r1 - d&d, dynojet pc, bmc, sportech, ebc, ...

walking around my r1 - february 2011 - bought it new in march 2005...now has ~35,000 miles. pirelli diablos tires, d&d slip-ons, dynojet power commander, bmc air filter, ebc hh brake pads, sportech black chrome windscreen, targa fender eliminator, hot bodies blue tinted flush mount turn signals, clear alternatives blue tinted integrated taillight, extreme shoguns frame sliders, yamalube semi-syn...notice the metallica key chain and 'the doctor' sticker on the faux tank...as of 3/26/2011 the r1 has pirelli diablo rosso tires, a rk rx/xw-ring gold chain, black vortex rear sprocket, and cyclelogic engine ice.

Sounds like the idle is to low and the iacv is trying to idle it up..

@Verge513 interesting theory verge513. i just looked at the factory service manual...page 2-2 has the engine idling speed of 1,150 to 1,250 rpm. watching the video from 0:45 to 0:55 the r1 is idling at almost nominal...so im not convinced its idle is low enough to cause what you describe...but ill increase the idle just a bit. thanks for watching the video and offering your opinion.

i have made no upgrades to any internal parts or components...but...how the engine sounds in the video is how it sounds standing next to it...badass...haha
