  • Okay, thanks for clearing that up, I have been wondering for quite a while what those were for

  • N represents an aircraft registered in the USA, and the nubers are like the license plate on your car in a sense.

  • That's the aircraft equivalent of the automobile license plate number. N248AE is pronounced as November Two Four Eight Alpha Echo, November being left out and replaced with Helicopter.

  • What do the numbers on the tail mean?
