  • When I got diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder at age 16 I was restrained so many time I have seriously lost count. That was 22 years ago and I would say in those 22 years I have been phsically restrained a minimum of 300 times. It has traumatized me beyond belief.

  • Restraining is horrible. I ws first restrained when i was 16. And the last time I ws restrained waas days ago. Im still in a adolscent mental health hospital but s a day patient. They restraained me the last time for wanting to stay upstrais with my mtes when i wasnt allowed upstairs becuse my bedroom isnt there. I dont even have a bedroom anymore. I have lost count on how many times I have been restrained in this one hospital. It has to be over 10 times. And Im still 16 years old. Im not proud

  • Some staff are ignorant, iv been restrained a few times, completely seperate incidents, most were disturbing and scary, but one was not nice, but less stressful. They need to explain and talk more

  • I have been restrained before. and it really is scary as can be espicially the first time it happening!

  • Not*

  • I've been restrained because I wouldn't take medicine to calm me down even though I was quiet settled and all it did was make me more angry, more irritated and made me want to kill myself even more. It should only be done as a last resort, a LAST resort and something done because your a bit unsettled.

  • As an LPN and MHS on a Behavioral Medicine Unit, thank you for posting this. Seclusion and restraints are the worst part of Psychiatric nursing. It is, however, necessary at times to keep a person from harming him/herself and others. It's so important for Psych staff to be compassionate and understanding, unfortunately this isn't always the case. All three stories are incredible. It would be great to show this to as many Psych nurses, MHW, MHS, and support staff as possible.

  • Great mask. Good story. Scary stuff mate!!!

  • Restraint is meant to keep the patient from hurting themselves. But all it does is traumatize people.

  • Brilliant Film. Should be shown to all staff of mental institutions
