Unhealthy Xbox Hard Disk

Xbox HDD sounds buggered. It came up with an error 7, made that crappy noise, and was therefore stuffed. It made a noise like that once in a while for 18 months, then i copied some music to it again and it got really bad. Has it happened to you?

To me sounds like the HDD is toast. Sounds like the controller arm and/or heads are clicking/smashing on the platter.

It sucks that Xbox Live is so strict with modified parts because I really dont want to have to pay AUS $200 to get a 8GB hard disc replaced. It was cheaper for me to buy a new console!

Ur hdd is dead...ur going to need a chip and m$ files along with new hdd...good luck..any questions just ask

I heard that you can put it in the fridge and it changes the pressure inside the hard disc that corrects the head crash...rofl?

at :12 it sounds like a COD (Click of Death). I think your Hard Drive has died

Try Reseating the IDE and power cables to the hard drive.
