wow, looked this gentleman up because of ray lamontagne mentioned him during one of his live performances and in his biography i was shocked to find he killed himself the day before i was born. i don't know why but it's trippy to me. his life was ending but mine was beginning. whoa weird. hey. rip mr. manuel.

@socrates1818 - Come on now...I love Richard Manuel as much as anyone with good taste but Robbie DEFINITELY should not be carrying anyone's luggage. Richard had the voice but Robbie wrote the incredible music and lyrics, without which there would be no Band

A sad event that drove Mr. Manuel to suicide, we will never know what.....thank goodness his music will go on forever.

richard manuel was so robbed........only a handful knew how great he was before he died. i was not one of them......i didn't find him until much later. robbie robertson got all the publicity in the Band...........when actually, he should have been carrying richard's luggage...........
