Selection of works by American painter Edward Hopper (1882-1967) set to the music of French Impressionist composer Claude Debussy (1862-1918). Debussy's Claire de Lune expresses so well what Hopper's paintings often depict: moments of quiet reflection, introspection, solitude, thoughtfulness..the human soul in repose.

sunlitporch, thanks! Sometimes I seem to discern that Hopper's solitude goes even further, that he felt cut off from his fellow man. Plus it seems that his relation to women (including his wife) was a bit troublesome; perhaps he experienced their flirtations and found it difficult to react positively. Otherwise, Debussy sounds like a good foil for his tranquility.

Music is very well fitting for the paintings. E.H. was one of the greatest quintessential American artists of the 20the century, together with F.L. Wright and O'Keefe.

@bossatonin : Thanks so much - and good point about Nighthawks! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a high quality digital image of that wonderful Nighthawks masterpiece online to put in my video. BTW: Your guitar playing is smooth!
