  • Mike is the last great candidate left i the race. the Libertarian party is very blessed to have such a strong character embrace their values.

  • Politicians and the media who talk fast do so to prevent you from thinking about what they say. Watch the news or listen to the top candidates, and observe this. When you read books, do you get more insight by skimming or reading slowly?

Mike Gravel talks slowly and confidently; we are able to think about what he is saying as he speaks.

  • No, not an Athenian Democracy. Mike Gravel conceptualizes the National Initiative as the people being the Fourth Branch of Government, where the people become an added check in our system of checks and balances. He's proposed both an Act (The Democracy Act) and an Amendment (The Democracy Amendment). Basically, he's suggesting that we do the same thing at the Federal Level that we do in about half the states...add an initiative process to supplement representative government, not replace it.

  • So... the National Initiative would make America like an Athenian style democracy?

Is that really what we want?

More fundamentally, is that really constitutional?

  • The Libertarians are not blessed to have a candidate that advocates for legislation that would create a federal democracy instead of a constitutional republic, that will sacrifice principal for expediency in healthcare, and would support a national smoking ban. Gravel is a straight shooter and I like his stances on the federal reserve but I cannot tolerate his other stances when there are better Libertarian candidates.

  • Gravel needs to become the next prez... he want to go all the way, the other candidate only talk about 'growing' the party.

    GRAVEL 08!
