thanks a lot man, lol i wanted to check out this video to get some help on the usb mic's, n' i just read ur comment about the web cam issue and it hit me i also have the same problem, but now problem solved thanx to u man! ( adjusting the web cam settings worked!!)
OK I solved the synch problem and here is the answer. I went through every setting in the Logitech webcam software and tried adjusting them all. I turned off the "deflicker" option (which is on by default). This did not affect the picture quality at all but it stopped the out of synch audio and smearing video problem.
My main mic is a Neumann U87 and use the mxl 006 as a convenient emergency mic when travelling away from the studio with my laptop and having to record voice overs. Have had to play off no realtime monitoring against quick, non-bulky, mixer-less, quality recording solution.
Yes, that's the problem with usb mics, you can't monitor yourself unless the mic has direct monitoring headphone output on the mic itself. I believe you have a mxl 006. No reference to this severe handicap is made evident in MXL's literature covering the 006 model.
I have been using one for a year. The audio quality is great and it interfaces with any software I am using. The gain control is helpful because I am often recording trumpet. The only problem I have is using it with my webcam. My computers USB 2 interface can't seem to handle the bandwidth of the camera and microphone at the same time and the two go out of synch even on live view. I am currently experimenting at fixing this problem but if anyone has any tips they would be appreciated.
Yes you can, turn on "listen to this device" in the devices properties.
