i like ur analysis. although i dont get that from the tone, altho i do believe u may be correct. i just think they should of made it more clear, the song sounds like it endorses the behavior, altho i know the members of the group are against crime, but they didnt have any verses, or even a line about the repercussions, plus this group is usually straight forward, so i do have reason to believe this song is also just as it seems. and the video, except for the ending, really supports what i said

Well what they were trying to do was show the perspective of a young black male who has nothing in America. They r trying to show how that mentality is a destructive path even when pop culture embraces acts much worse. The crimes they talk about are robbery, fraud and theft. They are trying to show you that they easy way is not the truth and that they have little choice as to their future (prison). Then he wakes up in Africa on the beach from that horrible nightmare w/o the need for materials.

amazing song, my only issue with it is that they make it sound glamorous when really its hell when you have to risk it all for a little cash, and even with that your still stuck in a lower class lifestyle. i feel like this song tried to do what 'cream' by wu-tang did and fails. and im not even referring to the video, just the music, cuz lets face it, they make great songs, but not good videos. (like whats up with the ending?)

i guess if it was serious it would just be another w-4 remake tho.
