  • Brian had long since stopped touring by the time this footage was taken, even then he was starting to look a bit unhinged

  • @alexandertarangerkin

well, but then again paul made she#s leaving home, his most in production sounding like brians, song without george martin, so probably if paul wouldn

#t have george to work with he would have made more of the baroqpue pop, but then again the beach boys never had a eleanor rigby from the sound of it.

  • @OropherThranduil

but then again the Beach Boys had a very different way at producing their distinct sound from that of The Beatles and Rolling Stones, when it came to baroque pop, the arrangements of Brian trumphed

  • All this argument about the use of session musicians doesn't mean anything.

As for the Beach Boys, I saw them many times from the 60s through the 90s live in concert.

They sounded great, and like the records they made, esp. in the 60s. In the 60s they could sound better than the records, both instrumentally and vocally.

  • @prescient8

it's simply agreed upon by most rock fans that using session guys means using them on instruments normally believed to be played by the band itself.

  • @prescient8

the beach boys also had session guys for most of the guitar, bass and drum.

the beatles and stones never used session guys for any normal rock insturmentation.

    only for strings and orchestras.

that doesn't count as using session musicians.

  • @OropherThranduil - totally untrue, session players have been there from the start, both the Stones and the Beatles frequently used session musicians, It's well known and documented. It also depended on the complexity of the music. The more complex your music gets the more musicians you need. If your music needs a small symphony orchestra you hire them rather than trying to play all the violins yourself.

  • @relimes because his father murry wilson hit him with a 2x4 in the right ear, which caused him to be half deaf.

  • The Brothers Wilson are all incredibly good-looking! Dennis is the could have been a model, Carl just made you want to kiss him, and Brian is just adorable! Al is nice looking, but I never cared for Mike. He just seemed like a jerk to me.

  • I'm a huge fan of Dennis' music (BB and solo), but playing drums he looks like he's trying to put out a camping fire. End of discussion.
