This is the largest of my bamboo flutes. It was hand crafted by an amazing flute maker, namely Erik Sampson. It's has beautiful custom design of old Norwegian pattern carvings and runes.

I received this flute just about a month ago, and I've been trying to learn how to play it for a while now. It's got an amazing high octave and overtones, but it's really hard to control. Also, it takes a lot of air, due to its size. In any case; it's my favourite flute so far.

  • The Flute is beautiful ... I recently got one myself and am having the same difficulties with it. you seem to have far better control over the higher octave than I do. Was hoping to to find some free lessons =) Keep up the good work and i hope to see more videos from you.

  • @tofindone Thanks! Yeah, it's a beauty, but it's tricky to play. I plan to make some more videos once I purchase a better microphone, who can do the flutes justice. The beauty of this flute's sound is in it's subtlety, I think, which you need a proper microphone to convey. I would love to see you post some videos too, to see how you're playing it! There aren't many of these around ^^

  • still playing a little each day. i have even found myself retreating to my favorite haunt to play for longer periods atleast once a week. i cant play any top hit songs but have found that just picking up the flute and playing from the heart produces some of the best music. (woordenstroom7) try to blow gently, your lips should form as if spitting out a seed as you smile. it difficult to master but is the correct way (if side blown). after that just play what sounds good to you..be creative =)

  • It's been a while, how is the practice coming along with both of you (3DLeif & tofindone)?

My own large Poet's flute arrived a few days ago...

Thing is: I'm not a flute player, at all. So I'm basically learning how to even get a sound out of the flutes I recieved.

So far this one is my favourite, just love the deep rich tone.

My others include an Oriental, Irish, Kiowa, Shepherd's and a few more :)
