Enjoy:) P.S. Tanner, if you're reading this. You're dead.

A week or so passed since Nick had seen Selena last. Instead, he took that time to spend with the family he hadn't seen for four years. Laughter and smiles never seemed to leave the roof above his head with this family he had been blessed with. He found himself telling stories over and over, but shockingly, didn't mind the repetitiveness of it. His brothers practically lived at that house with him all week, always wanting to do things. One night, the three of them went out and simply played a game of midnight golf. But as the days passed on, Nick found that one porcelain face never left his mind; it was almost as if he had all of her features memorized already. The way her nose scruntched up whenever she laughed or when her lips curled up into her beautiful smile. Selena had Nick entranced, and she didn't even try. He longed to hear her laugh or her smart little remarks.

Soon enough, Nick found himself standing before the lake that he and Selena had been to. Grey clouds covered the sky waiting for the right moment to pour down rain. The wind started to blow gently and the air started to become damp and humid. Nick took it all in, wishing that she was by his side the entire time. Nick looked up at the clouds above and decided to turn back before he got caught in a rainstorm without a coat. As he turned, a familiar figure caught his eye.

"Nick?" The soft voice of Selena came to Nick like sweet music. "What a coincidence seeing you here!" She laughed as she made her way towards him, only to stop a few feet away. Nick chuckled lightly as his hands nervously were shoved into his pockets. "Oh, you know, this place is just too beautiful. Had to come here."

Selena nodded as she smiled in agreement. "Leaving already?"

"Well-"

"Come on." Selena didn't even let him finish before quickly grabbing his hand and dragging him into the trees not far from the lake. "Where are we going?" Nick said with a laugh. He loved the enthusiasm she always carried with her. They walked for only a few short minutes before she stopped in front of a large tree.

"So you drag me all through the trees, just to show me another giant tree, huh?" Nick teased as he elbowed her gently. Selena answered with a giggle and a slight push before walking over and standing closer to the tree. "Wouldn't this place be amazing to have a tree house?" She asked as she looked up. "Its always been one of my big dreams to build a tree house here." She said softly, remembering back to her childhood days to now.

"It would be a great place." Nick echoed to her as he looked up as well. The trunk of the tree was thick and the branches spanned out for several feet. The sun was still hidden behind the full clouds and gave it a very gloomy, yet fantastic look.

"We better get started then." Nick said with a sly smile on his face after getting an obvious brilliant idea. Selena spun around to face him on her heel. "You...want to build this?"

With only using three strides to reach her, he smiled down at the beauty that had him going nuts. "I don't want to build it. I want us to build it. It'll be a fun little project. My dad has unused wood in our shed, and I don't think anyone will miss that. What do you say?" The smile on both of their faces continued to grow. Selena, at the thought of finally getting the tree house she wanted, and Nick, at the thought of having an easy excuse to spend more time with her. "We could just sketch out something and get working on it whenever this terrible weather clears up."

As Selena looked up at Nick, she couldn't help but notice the the cute crookedness of his smile. She didn't notice until now what an effect his chestnut eyes had on her; she got lost in them so easy. "Thank you, Nick! I'm up for it." Selena then found herself wrapping her arms around Nick's large frame. He laughed and answered her with a hug back.

The two went back in the pouring rain to Selena's front porch. She ran inside and grabbed a pencil and a pad of paper and brought it back out with her. They sat down as Selena sketched the rough draft of the tree house as Nick watched her.

"You're really good." Nick mentioned quietly, not wanting to break her focus. "Have you done this before?" She looked up at him and hooked a strand of hair behind her ear. A smiled curved at the corner of her lips as she answered, "I actually paint. A lot." "Well, don't stop. Keeping drawing and painting. You're very gifted with that." Selena licked her lips and smiled as she looked down and continued to sketch. "That was very sweet of you, Nicholas. Thank you."
