http://www.auto-journals.com I got distracted by the very well driven Porsche GT3 RS and went into this corner way too fast. Thankfully it was one of the very few corners with some run-off and I recovered the slide without touching the barrier...

GT-R is tuned to 620hp, has 400mm Alcon brakes and Toyo R888s. But as I say in the vid, weighs 1740kg plus fuel and two passengers, so more like 2 tonnes at 120mph into that corner. Was never going to happen!

  • When I was there my girlfriend didn't stop screaming so I had to kick her out lol. It really dus make a difference lol

  • @basketballmadman LOL! Hopefully you stopped the car when you did it...

  • Hey Chris, long time! You're right, I realised I was going way too fast and wouldn't make the corner, so scrubbed off as much speed as I could in a straight line on the tarmac then just dealt with the resulting slide on the grass by reapplying the throttle to bring the 4WD in. Thank fuck it was dry and uphill!

  • you dont need to brake on that corner, simply lift prior to the turn-in at the end of the berm on track right and make sure you use all of the track, finding the apex on the berm at the right ....

  • Very very lucky!

  • I think the passenger is mostly to blame. Waving his arms at the braking point. Well done for keeping your shi* together David.

  • Anymore vids from that day David?

  • Respect for that though.

  • @DavidYu2007 Ah, makes more sense now! it's amazing the car clawed back on the road so well as you can see the off camber slant of the road and verge from the angle of camera - so so lucky!!

  • This is my worst corner, it feels off camber and it's very fast, particularly further round on the exit. Slight excess speed wasn't the only issue though - you just didn't commit to turn in!
