To truly get an objevtive sense of Musashi read The Lone Samurai The Life of Miyamoto Musashi by William Scott Wilson. It is a great read and full of additional information then read The Five Rings. Enjoy!

You guys are 100% right. What an incredible honor to be given bokken by on of the world leading swordsman and the direct decedent to Miyamoto Musashi, I nearly teared up as well. The sense of honor and kinsman-ship, its wonderful.

He was really, really touched by the gift, he was holding back tears, that was awesome, such a real moment! I think as a special forces guy he was really inspired by musashi and to have his successor give him those gifts was such a moving thing for him.
