Even though the intervening months had been pretty wet, dark and windy, some of the guys had managed to find time visit the site and to build the frame.
Then, MET Eireann, gave word that the weather was going to be pretty decent for the weekend just before St. Patrick's Day. So they rang round and mustered the troops for the Sunday.
They had put protective tape on all the support frames a day or two beforehand so as to save time on the day. But...
... MET Eireann hadn't said it would be great weather for polytunnel work. Just that it would be better weather than recent months...
... and so...
... we arrived to find white streamers flapping at us and, although it didn't rain (and it didn't feel like it would), there was a fair breeze gusting through the site.
So we got into the repair and prep work needed before pulling on the cover. More to come in Parts 3 and 4.
