RF Unlocker

This is a device I developed. It's been in the making over a year off and on. Starting from scratch and learning everything from basic electronics, micro controller programming, RF Technology and other design techniques it's finished.

It was designed in mind to be cheap and effective for college students to have a high-tech room. The device with two remotes can be created for under ~$35..($30 in bulk @100qty) It can be used on any door that has a deadbolt as its primary lock. It attaches to the door using 3M adhesive strips, and removes easily. It uses the same hopping code encryption as cars do so it's RF encryption code is secure and can't be 'hacked'.

If you think this is a good idea especially for the price please let me know if you think it's marketably feasible. Thanks =)

what happens when the battery is empty, you can't get in then? that would be kinda funny =). Did u use PIC or what?

I do you PIC. You can still key in while the device is on. However I've heard of someone wanting to put it on a InSide-ONLY Deadbolt, and in that case you would be locked out!! :-O I want to put a lower battery indicator light on it!

i had this idea about 3 1/2 months ago, i though it was brilliant, and now i'm looking it up in google and youtube and seeing its already been done. patented and manufactured. damn this sucks...... i though i could get royaltys. wtf! ah no more words.
