This is highly inaccurate. You should read up on military history if you want an unbias analysis of the war. The US didn't push Iraq to start the war. They did provide material aid to Iraq and did intervene on the request from Gulf States in order to protect sea lanes (and American oil) from the Iranian navy which had gained control of the Gulf. Really it got started with Saddam believing he could exploit Iranian internal weakness and Arab fear of the Ayatollah regime.
