Ofcourse they build you up, this is in the commando phase at week 26+ and he said its one of the commando tests so its at week 31, i start RT in 16! Weeks! Counting down the minutes!
toughest thing about those marches is the gear your wearing, any person who is decently fit should be able to run 10 miles in an hr,so 9 miles in battle order in 1.30 hr isnt bad, over uneven ground.i ran 14 miles in 2 hrs with 55lb bergen but that was wearin trainers! besides about 15mins of that 1.30hr is taken off for drink breaks.
@jprbur Not propaganda, just look up the commando course.
The 30 miler is one of the tests that has to be completed in Royal Marine training. It is done in 8 hours or less carrying fighting order weighing 32lbs plus a day sack with a few extras in (bringing it to around 40lbs). Royal Marines officers must complete it in under 7 hours and navigate the route themselves.
The video REAL LIFE - COMMANDO (Royal Marines) 2000 - Part 5 states that a march of 30 miles in the rough terrain of dartmoor carrying 40lbs,,,, The S.A.S speed march consists roughly carrying 40lbs covering 40 miles in 24 hours. The video mentioned above of the Royal marine speed march of 30 miles carrying 40lbs in 8hrs is obviously corrupted is this fake proppaganda are we to have faith in our troops for unneccassary reason?
@critchley17 I was wearing trousers in cross country, but not boots lol! And definately not 32lbs. And man, I didn't know how much more sensible I could get in 4 months, I mean, just looking at the comment makes me feel embarrassed now! I just turned 13 a few days ago, soooo.... But I do have a reputation of doing more press ups/push ups (I really can't tell the difference) than almost anyone at school that I know, apart from a few boys of course.
