Kenny Everett often praised this records naffness on his Worlds Worst Records Show.
Some truly cringey lyrics in there

The lyrics are so bad, they're wonderful! You couldn't make it up!

Jess recorded this for inclusion in the 1961 film "Konga", in which he co-starred. But before the film's release, the producer decided that the film was a few minutes too long and that something had to be cut from it and decided that it would be this song. The song was supposed to refer to the blue pullover Jess wore in the film, given to him by his girlfriend Sandra, played by Claire Gordon.

this was a cover version of an Italian original by Gianni Meccia which I love when I was a young lad. Hear the original version here: youtube dot com/watch?v=h2Vsfl2_QV8 Remember to change the dot to a full stop

I actually quite like his "Mystery girl" hit. Jess had a dreadful voice and the song is horrible... but I'd rather listen to it 100 times than one rap "song".

The sentiment also reminds me of Ed Wood's thing for angora sweaters, as shown in 'Glen or Glenda'!

In the film Telstar, Jess Conrad was both in it (as Larry Parnes) and portrayed by someone else (Nigel Harman). Chas Hodges also had this distinction.
