Yeah it is pointless, but not always. Keep in mind, that you can have like 2 or 3 cars in your garage and not enough space just to open the doors. Here, the car is parking automaticaly, so you don't have to open the doors while you're in the garage.
I agree though. Apart from the reason above, it is useless feature...

Ok as cool as this is. Not only is it absoluty stupid feature, but it shows how lazy you are if you won't stay in the car and park it yourself. USE YOUR EYES AND GOOD JUDGEMENT.

Regardless of its uselessness, its an interesting thing to show to your friends.
"Hey, look, I don't just lock my car with a remote, I even Park it with the remote!!"

be fun to see what it does if you got it to park on the motorway (freeway) wold it drive off into the sunset looking for a parking space :)
