40 years on the location of the missing dead body is revealed (trees and bushes have grown and gone, but the atmosphere is the same).

  • Hi all. This was filmed from the spot where the tree that concealed the dead body used to be. Over the (40+) years since the film was made the trees have suffered quite badly, which makes the area almost unrecognisable. Regards, Ian.

  • you maybe interested to check out 'your face here, british cult movies since the 60's' by ali catteral and simon wells it has a whole chapter on blow up and filming in the park

  • Read it some time ago, thanks. Very interesting stuff.

  • @isbright Hey, I did exactly the same thing in '96. The tree was gone by then. Sadly, I no longer have the footage. I recall wondering whether Antonioni painted the rooftops in the distance white and also noticing how small the 'plateau' (where the murder took place) actually is.

  • Anyone have the actual clip of his discovering the body in the park?

I like this clip you have put up but I was looking for the scene from the film.

  • pity the tree"s missing

watched that movie last week, its great!

  • also.......it's too bad Hemmings isn't still with us 44 years later V__V

  • isbright, thankyou so much! This is FANTASTIC!! I have always wanted to go to this park but I doubt I ever will, but this is the next best thing. I have heard other people say "it's still exactly like it was in the movie," but it's even better to be shown that it is. People say even the tennis courts are still there.

thanks again, this is awesome. It even still has that same isolated, creepy feel to it!!

  • Wow! A must visit site for movie lovers!

  • Interesting vid, thanks for showing. I return to watch my Blow Up DVD every so often and there's always some new detail in it I hadn't noticed before. The park looks run down compared to it's polished 1960s condition and that central clump of trees where the body was has gone. Were these trees ever really there at all? Hmmm...

  • It's Maryon Park

  • I've heard the sceene was in Holland Park.

    Confusing!
