  • water/meth

  • pulls pretty damn hard, but DAMN, looks like you need just a little more air

  • @cavX2 im looking at a pretty much stock 01 24v. only thing is intake and 5" mbrp exhaust. it also has an edge comp programmer, do u kow if that programmer can set egt's too? thanks!

  • @cavX2 oh i agree completely, aluminum does have low melt point, what im saying is that a bone stock cummins will make 1500+ pulling within spec load. Obviously hills make it work. like you say "short spurts" are fine. but theres been times, where theres no where to pull over and your running a good hill! :O

  • @cocamustang1350 - 1400 is okay for short spurts..i.e. track, passing, beating up on local Mustangs, etc.Run much higher than that for more than a few seconds and you're starting to ask for trouble.Remember, you have aluminum pistons. Aluminum begins to melt aroudn 1220*.1250* is just gas temp, it isn't hot enough to heat soak the metal.Get up over that 1400 mark and you'll start causing cumulative damage that will eventually find it's way through the piston. Keep it under 1250 and you're golden

  • i know, i have a cummins myself and a 37 foot toy hauler, ya 1400 is ok but what i was saying was with twins it should be lowering his ETGs, i have a 2006 3500, 6speed manual with the edge juice w/ attitude and i have my set to back down at 1320 especially while pulling my trailer up the coquhalla, anything over 1400 is not safe sure u can do it "all day" but thats gonna catch up to you pretty soon youll hit 1500 1600 and so on then shit it gonna brake. You can run 1250* all day long.

  • @cavX2 stock cummins will sit at 1400 all day long. Pulled my 37' 5th wheel from Edmonton Alberta to Arizona hitting 1500+ on sum hills. Stock with AFE CAI and MBRP exhaust.

  • Get those EGT's down!! Melted piston is coming your way if you dont!

  • Holy EGT's Batman!
