Why?

Because Bruce Cain is an expert in the area of Drug Policy. He has outlined a viable plan that would immediately Re-Legalize the personal "self cultivation" of Marijuana by adults over the age of 18. Enough of this pointless incrementalism on the part of your representatives and psuedo drug reform groups such as Drug Policy Alliance (DPA), Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) and the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).

What possible reason might there really be for immediately allowing adult Americans to "grow their own" without worrying about government interference?

I have a standing challenge to debate the heads on any of these groups publicly in my home town in SE Michigan. To date I have no takers.

It is time to demand that Obama Re-Legalize Marijuana RIGHT NOW or face Bruce Cain in a public debate over the issue. I can't wait Obama.

Here is the complete transcript of the Petition:

Petition for the Immediate Re-Legalization of Marijuana by implementing MERP through a Special Joint Session of Congress:
We the undersigned demand that President Obama immediately implement he MERP Model for Marijuana Re-Legalization through a special emergency joint session of Congress. This is the same approach that was used to pass the TARP Bailout on 10/03/2008: a bill that was opposed by over 80% of the American People and which only benefited the very same banksters that have destroyed the US economy. According to a recent Zogby Poll Marijuana Re-Legalization is now supported by 52% of the American people and is expected to grow by at least 1% each year. The MERP model basically treats the unlimited, untaxed, unregulated self cultivation of Marijuana as a sacred, inalienable right. By implementing MERP three important goals would immediately be achieved without any expenditure of American blood or treasure. It would (1) destroy the Mexican Drug Cartels; (2) allow access to free medicine by the sick and the poor, and (3) will immediately stop any further home invasions by law enforcement. It will also unleash the Agricultural and Industrial products that can be made from Cannabis (e.g., Hemp). Note that a street address is optional as long as you provide an email address. The purpose of this petition is to send a message to Obama and alert the activist community about upcoming events to end Marijuana Prohibition by implementing the MERP Model. Personal information will not be shared with any 3rd parties. More info on MERP at: www.newagecitizen.com

  • i think the reason they do that is because they think it's the only way to get it legalized. but once its taxed almost nothing will be able to get the government off our backs. im trying to figure out the laws so that when it is legal i can at least undercut the people who charge far too much for marijuana. i'd like to charge $150 an ounce including taxes. we'll see how it goes. i figure it'll be 6 years till it's totally legal.

  • I'm currently working a a MERP2 which will look at recommendation for commercial cultivation. I think the price under MERP2 will be between $150 to $200 and ounce even though it demands MERP is passed 1st; allowing untaxed, uregulated, unlimited self cultivation. Not everyone will want to grow their own.

  • Better than signing the petition- get some seeds, and outgrow the government.

  • Maybe you should spend less time showing disrespect to NORML and folks on the front lines and focus on changing attitudes. What a disappointment.

  • legalize it.. Make it 21 and :D yeah.. I'm for it 110%

  • The hemp plant (scientific name: cannabis, slang: marijuana) is one of the many useful herbs "yielding seed after its kind" created and blessed by God on the third day of creation, "and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:12) He gave hemp for people to use with our free will. thank you @entious enough is enough ,

  • word

  • @MrTimbolicious It should definitely be 18 or even 21. 18 is when you are legally an adult. If a child grows marijuana (16 year old), there will be problems to keep it simple. History and even modern societies have already shown this.

  • MERP all the way! Go go go!

  • i think that the smoking age should be younger then 18 i think it should be 16 message me and i will tell you why .

  • Thank you its about time someone has the guts to do something about it.
