Survey Nation goes to the streets of San Francisco during the April 9, 2008 disrupted Olympic Torch Relay to get the story you won't see on CNN, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC, or any mainstream media. We talked directly to the people who were there about the important issues raised by the upcoming Summer Games in Beijing, shooting over two and a half hours of video.

In order to give you the best possible coverage, we will be presenting a series of shows from this event that focus on a variety of topics including the policies and practices of the Chinese government, human rights, the crises in Tibet and Darfur, a potential US boycott, the politicization of the Olympic games, and, most importantly, the American right to free speech. We will let the people speak for themselves on the important issues that matter most to them.

We understand that these issues are highly emotional and potentially divisive, but we encourage you to view each episode in the spirit of worldwide harmony, openness, and diversity that is at the heart of Olympic ideals.

In this episode, we ask if the Olympic Torch Relay should be a political event or not. Are the Olympics political in nature? Where do the Tibet crisis and human rights issues fit in? Is the Chinese government using the Games to promote their country and economic agenda? And should this be allowed?

  • the only one in the world most shameful and disgraceful Olympic torch relay ever.

  • who say the Tibet belong to fucking China??

  • no olympics should be about politics the olympics are the 2 weeks where we are a world we aim for

  • There is a lesson for all Xizang ethnic minorities (formerly called Tibetans) that 99.999% of the world's people believes that Xizang is a part of China. The 2008 Beijing Olympics Games has been very, very successful and the Best in History. It made many billions of people in this world Happy. On the other hand, all those people who tried to dirupt the Beijing Olympics had been Unsuccessful and many are feeling ashamed about their cowardly actions now.

  • hahaha..the Beijing olympic was a success!!!

  • communist china is a bad poison..it will effect every nation inna future..

  • If these protesters have a beef, blame the IOC for picking Beijing in 2001, not the fans who want to watch the Olympic Games.

These protesters should be ashamed at themselves for interfering the Olympic torch relay.

  • Boycott Olympic. 2 deads-Bad chinese security...

  • You are so right...G.Bush is so hypocritical-he criticises China about breaking the laws and human rights, but he does not see breking the international laws in terms of Iraq or Kosovo...And Tibet is chinese "problem" and it has nothing to do with the Olympics...

  • Too bad Spielberg dropped out huh

he could've finally become his hero
