My video documentation of the large wildfire in Wheeler County. 40-50mph winds with higher gusts encouraged the fire to grow rapidly and quickly out of control. Smoke spread across Oklahoma into southern Kansas. See lots of smoke, flames, firenadoes, emergency vehicles and even stampeding cattle as the firestorm rages. The town of Wheeler itself escaped, but eight nearby homes, a business, and 26 barns/sheds were destroyed with many others damaged to various degrees. Four firefighters were treated and released for dehydration, heat exhaustion, and smoke inhalation.
I live in Wheeler and oh my gosh, it was scary. The fire went into my backyard. I'll never forget that day
