TO ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH cpgz files !
Rename minecraft.jar to minecraft.zip and then use Archive utility

@Mrextremeo right click Finder on Dock and find "Go to folder." type in "Library/Application Support/minecraft"

IT makes a cpgz file with u can't actually open :/

I got the same problem as kellor23 with Lion - it makes a cpgz file instead of actually showing any contents. Help!!!!
