This deluxe new edition of our most popular book ever expands the original graphic novel — which tells the story of two best friends, Enid and Rebecca, facing the prospect of growing up and apart — from 80 pages into a 288 page, behind-the-scenes tour through the making of both the classic book and the subsequent hit film. Including a new introduction and several pages of new strips by Clowes, as well as over 200 pages of 'extras': the Oscar-nominated screenplay by Clowes and Terry Zwigoff, dozens of pages of never-before-collected ephemera, including unused concept drawings, notes, movie posters, foreign edition covers, merchandise, and much more, all annotated by Clowes. Truly lavish, definitive and comprehensive.

  • Ghost World is funnier than Archie and Veronica

  • i loved ghost world...do you know similar graphic novel???

  • The cover art is awful !

  • Yeah, well. As far as these things go they did a good job of turning GW into a film. It's actually got a lot of other 8-ball stuff incorporated into it and it kinda unfolds like a best-of Clowes type of thing, but still. Thora Birch's turn as Enid is excellent.

  • Jings, I had no idea Fantagraphics had a place on youtube. Glad I found it.

  • Wow! I had no idea that there was a special edition of Ghost World.OMG I want it!!!! :D The book is gorgeous^^

  • More like '93-'97.

Much of the relationships stuff is universal, but really none of the cultural stuff is in the range you mention. It is very in the wake of grunge, and shortly before the whole blonde-glam-pop-luxe-status thing got so big.

The movie sounds terrible, I will never see it. My time period is for the cartoons. The movie sounds like it may very well fit in with '99 - 2009 culturally. Blech.

  • im reading the comic right now :) OMG i want this special edition!!
