The sweet music of the 1940s represents the freedom and way of life our forefathers fought and died for therefore it is most appropriate! You can bet these sailors had that way of life on their mind as they struggled to succeed in the Pacific War.

Better title for the video: "Japanese planes bomb the USS Enterprise while I play unfitting music in the background."

maybe it does represent freedom but it's still really inappropriate for this footage. it's like music for a picnic or something, nice and relaxing. it doesn't fit with bombs exploding and war footage.

OK, check this out:...from page 162 in the definitive Enterprise CV-6 book, "The Big E" about the action of 8/24/42: "...the first bomb smashed through the starboard after gun gallery". The film clearly shows this hit as you can see. Also (from page 153: "A few seconds before 5:16, she took a third bomb. It went off on impact with the flight deck, just aft of the island, at the starboard after quarter. ...this one carried an instantaneous fuse...a ten foot hole was blown in the flight deck..."
