  • I understand. I was responding to a comment where they were going to repower buses with S60 and R&R the motors with C13.

  • These came with the CAT engines

  • Why are they trying to rehab and kill the Detroits off? Come on now.

  • Cat's are oil burning monsters. Good luck with them. Of course, looking at the new '07 Series 60 Turbo, scary...

  • Three favorite engines,Series 60 DDEC,CAT C13 ACERT,and the best sounding is Greyhounds exclusive(well pretty much)6V92 with the brain power of DDEC.C13 is not a bad engine,CAT is just a little complicated to some(old mechanic's).Oh yeah and Decamp has 16 D4505's w/C13's.Those busses look like giant sprite cans (I work there as a mechanic).

  • I do believe in 2010 that the MCI D4500CL's will be Detroit DD15 powered, because CAT C13 and Cummins ISM won't be produced anymore after 2009

  • Catelpillar cut 20,000 jobs so they have to focus on something different,

everything slowed down, economy, technology, higher gas, less orders,

less focus on designs of buses,

the could hire some Europeans who would do excellent jobs. In Mexico there are Scania plants and buses are great.

  • CAT sucks all together the C-13 runs ok the like first 100,000 Detroit's are great and the Cummins ISM is a good runner to the two best ever were the Cummins N-14 and The Detroit Diesel 8V-92TA

  • What is the best cummins engine for the MCI D4500s?

  • I've Ridden in a DeCamp Bus #539 during the New York Trip. There was a Series 60 in there, but I Found out that this was a CAT C-13 with an Allison B-500R6. It took off Quicker than the Series 60. The Bus was called the MCI D4505. By the Way It had a Wheelchair Lift. I was riding it with no problem. It Was an Awesome Ride!!! That was during the New York Trip. Check out my Videoes and you will see what I mean.
