I remember watching it one day and suddenly clicking that even the over emphasised intro music on every brass eye show, and the bits bewteen parts 1 and 2, is complete satire. Just like newsnight or something, loads of bongs. Felt really stupid for not noticing before.

Well, I'm glad that you're not a religious fool.

To me, the life of the religious is the easy (or easier) way, where it is not required of you to think outside of the box. In fact, it is probably strongly recommended that you don't think for yourself at all in terms of existential matters, and trust completely in the Lord...

As for not killing myself? Ha! I've certainly contemplated the idea, but I've decided that IF there is an after-life, it might be even worse than this one, so no thanks!

Well I guess that was the point of the video wasn't it? The man who contracted HIV got it from his partner, which until recently was as close to "married" as gay people can get. While you may not think much of the institution of marriage, or trust your spouse to be monogamous, I would say that you are in the minority. Most married folks trust their partners & do not use condoms with their spouses. That doesn't make them idiots, just potential victims when their spouse is unfaithful.

Actually I'm not religious and I'm not so simple as to believe that an omnipotent creator cares anything about what we do here on this planet. People can be moral and humanitarian without being religious. If the world isn't worth living in, why are you still here? You must find some value in sticking around, otherwise you'd go ahead and kill yourself. It's not a mortal sin if you're a non-believer.

The only people I've met who genuinely believe that this world is worth anything (with people in it), have been deeply religious people, which is just another way of saying "extremely conditioned people".

I'm sure it's very nice to believe that a God is responsible for everything and that, if we're good, we get to join the after-life party in the sky.

Except life isn't like that. It's cold and hard and cruel.
