  • of all the people i hear talk shit about the 22 as any sort of defensive weapon... i just invite them to step infront of mine, ive had no takers for some reason.

  • yeah 22lr definitely can kill, but if u use a hollow point like a cci stinger it can do much worst

  • 75 yards? dude a .22 longrifle can kill @ over 300 yards... do some more tests... u will see that the more you push the capabilities of what you believe the more you will discover..

dont limit your self.. let your mind say there is no limit.. and then if u believe you can... then go make it happen. but if u believe u cant.. then you surely cant...

  • how powerful is a savage 22lr?

  • @RngrOnTheEdge As long as it is not the standard .22, they don't have enough powder behind it. They may be good for up close behind the ear shots, but not face to face. Then there is the .22 mag, lots of kick behind it.

  • Of course they can kill. Brenda Spenser proved that one bored Monday morning.

  • i had a cow leg bone and i put 10 inch ballistic gel behind it it broke the bone and it caused more damage to the gel and bullet gone all the way through

  • i love my .22's. i have an old marlin 81 DL and an old stevens Model 52B and they are both very accurate and reliable.and i'm still collecting more in the future.

  • @RngrOnTheEdge Agreed. However, I prefer a centerfire cartridge as those little .22 rimfires are pretty unreliable. That being said, it's really all about shot placement, and I can put a lot more rounds on target a lot quicker with a .22 than my standard .40 or .45

  • I have been tree'd twice on my own land by feral pigs while out target shooting with my ruger 22/45. And twice, that pistol has killed the hogs. Shot placement is crucial, but a head shot will kill them instantly, and body shots eventually.

There is a reason the OSS/CIA used suppressed 22 pistols for wet work... (HiStandard integrally suppressed 22 lr pistol), and the seals use the AWC TM-Amphibian (integrally suppressed ruger 22/45 variant pistol).

  • @loribit85 IMHO there are worse things than death... Say a scrotum shot followed by a bowel shot...

  • I feel perfectly comfortable CC'ing my North American Arms revolver in 22WRM. Also has a 22LR cylinder, and I doubt anyone would shrug either one off.
