Nice classics: Cessna 170, Stinson 108-2 and 3, 15AC Sedan, V35 Bon and T-Bone, not sure about the Navion though............I'd rather have an E95 Travel Air.

I pay 518 a year for my bike plate plus 390 insurance and 123 yearly for drivers license, coulda been a commercial pilot for that in '53

with today's economy and people here in america have to eat.. a Bonanza or Musketeer, Bonanza more so considering that the complex singles and twins right now are dirt cheap. so look at there prices dropping rapidly soon...

O.o anyway. the CAR driving license here can cost almost that if you're not really quick

He talks about $500 in 1950 US dollars, which roughly convert to $5000 in today's money. These days, with some luck, you might be able to get a private pilot license with $5000, but usually you'll have to pay more than that.
