"You'll Learn Good and Proper" - An Arrest in Des Moines, IA

Video of Des Moines police arresting me for "interference with official acts", which apparently amounts to me standing in my front yard filming them. Original footage by Todd Razor. Subtitled by Justin Norman and Kirk Brown.

Police officers in this video are Hedlund, who put me in handcuffs the first time, Lancaster, who supposedly was writing the ticket, Demoss (possible misspelling), who who argues with Kirk and arrests me, Ness, who speaks to me in the paddy wagon, and a female officer whose name I can't remember who approaches at around the 3:12 mark.

They had a legal reason for pulling you over. Upon investigating whether or not to cite you for the violation (discretion) you began childish insults about common sense and requesting a lawyer event though you're not under arrest. The pull you out of the car which is perfectly reasonable given your attitude over a minor traffic violation. Then your buddies start filming and flaming the cops non stop. YOU GUYS ESCALATED THE EVENT NOT THE COPS. MORONS.

If I am stopped for a traffic violation, why am I asked "where are you going, where are you coming from?" That is nobodys' business but mine. Next comes "do you have anything in your car you shouldn't have?" And then the biggie...."do you consent to a search of your car?" If I say no to this crap, and request a lawyer; I'M THE BAD GUY!!! Don't give me this line of BS "just go along with them if you have nothing to hide." I DON'T HAVE!! But I shouldn't have to prove myself to them for no reason!

@PheelGoodInc Why did cops demand passenger (Justin Norman) to show ID? He wasn't driving. Why were these guys asked for their phone #s? The way it should have happened!! Open trunk is seen by cops. Stop the car! Driver must produce his license (which he did) Write him a ticket, or have him close his trunk; warn him to check his trunk or fix it; and say good night. Cops escalated things by demanding passenger ID and asking questions (ie) phone #s etc, Very simple. COPS ON A WITCH HUNT!!!

@PheelGoodInc In Fascist Amerika, you are more likely to be shot and killed by your local police in a routine traffic stop than in a terrorist attack. Perhaps these young men felt for their saftey and needed to stand their ground to prevent becoming another Amerikan statistic. My hope for you is that you fall victim to the NDAA Bill that your evil and wicked government just passed. .Just remember, they have ever legal reason to detain you indefinitely without charge or trail.

@JustinNorman "take my camera" resulted in several individuals attacking the cop and forcefully taking it from him. That's called a robbery when you take something from someone by force. 5 minutes of looking into you shows you're a radical with hostility towards police, which in your videos do nothing wrong and treat everyone respectful. YOU got arrested and told other to get your camera from the cop, they then rushed the cop and took it from him by force. Those are YOUR WORDS. Nothing imagined at all. All your videos are heavily edited. You edit out all your bad behavior then state the cops did this or that, yet it's not on your "video evidence".. I suggest you review your own videos.

@JustinNorman Peace protestors have a history of being violent towards police. The occupy wall streeters claim to be non violent, yet they leave a path of destruction and injured cops where ever they go. Professional protestors are dangerous as is evidenced here as no normal person would act this way. Justin got arrested at other times and he instructed others to attack the cop, which they did. Peaceful? Hardly.. Dangerous people with no regard to attacking officers? Absolutely.
