  • Lee has one of the greatest voices ever created. What an artist. I love this song. It always brings to mind the time when I was 18 and had my first love. We realized that we had so little in common and decided to break up - I think he was looking in a different direction from mine. I found out many years down the road that he had hoped time would get us back together. It never happened. The next time I saw him was at his funeral - cancer took him. Thank you for posting. - Paula (PaulinaRena)

  • It's still the all time #1 to me.....even 29 years later !

  • "It Turns Me Insight Out" was Lee Greenwood's debut single and only reached number 17 in early '82 but lingered on the chart of 22 weeks, a long stretch at the time.

  • @onomatopoeia162003 Thanks, I needed to hear that!

  • If you get a chance, go see him and Louise Mandrell on their tour or in Branson. What a great show!

  • this is real music.man he can sing...i love it

  • Great song from Lee Greenwood's debut album, and one that was hard for him to follow in its excellence. It is a credit to him that great artists like Reba McEntire have taken songs from this album, such as "Ring On Her Finger, Time On her Hands", and made them into their own inimitable versions, but the original is still the greatest. Full of emotion as only Lee Greenwood can convey in his voice, this is a Country classic

  • i agree this is an awessome song, i know it is more about being in love and breaking up, but it is a song that i listened to soon after i lost my uncle to cancer, i can now finally listen to it and not cry, well sometimes anyway

  • AWESOME SONG!!
