  • And again, you are misquoting me. I once again assert that drivers must try to stop and not hit jaywalking pedestrians. Even a jaywalking pedestrian has right of way, and drivers must try to stop. Yes, jaywalking is stupid and illegal. However, you can't just run over a jaywalker with impunity because they are breaking that law. That's against the law. Common sense, no?

  • The Jaywalker does not have the right of way if they are in an active roadway...however you are right on the fact that the driver must still use common sence and not run the jaywalker over.

  • the real problem is the camera-enforced traffic signal at Sloat. The timing on that signal is unfair. The yellow light is way too short. They just put those cameras there to generate revenue for the city, not for any safety reasons.

  • @andyaus1 you can turn off the speaker.

  • Man this reporter shuld shut his mouth up

  • I've seen it all before. I usually frequent 19th Avenue. I am glad that the police are cracking down on speeders. I hope to see them trying to control reckless driving. Also people who block the intersection should really clear the way or they will create a gridlock, if the light changes, the other traffic can't get across or the emergency vehicles can't get through. There is a reason why you have to clear the way, or get ticketed.

  • one word : Yes

  • It is required by law to stop for a pedestrian if the pedestrian is in the crosswalk. : /

  • I like how it always says people behaving badly.

  • "Right of way" = having the LEGAL right of passage over another. A pedestrian illegally jaywalking does NOT have "right of way" over a vehicle.
