Site Failover Using FalconStor NSS (Supporting VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager)

VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager accelerates and simplifies the disaster recovery (DR) process by automating site failover of VMware environments. When it is combined with application-aware storage replication solutions from FalconStor Software, it empowers organizations with quick and seamless recovery when it is most needed.

This presentation describes how FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) integrates with VMware Site Recovery Manager via the FalconStor Storage Replication Adapter (SRA), a layer of software that communicates information about virtualized storage volumes to VMware Site Recovery Manager. The FalconStor solution uses a TOTALLY Open™ approach to physical disk storage and SAN protocols, allowing use of any disk systems and connectivity types (Fibre Channel and iSCSI). Recovery processes are further enhanced through application-specific FalconStor Snapshot Agents and the innovative FalconStor Snapshot Director for VMware, which coordinates snapshot operations between the guest applications and the VMware ESX Server to ensure 100% transactional integrity.
