The 60's saw the decline of pilchard fishing in Cornwall. Alfred John Pengelly and other fisherman talk about the decline and how they have to dump fish because of undercutting the price by South African fisherman.
Since the departure of my late dad, I find it increasingly more difficult to come across that soft drawl that transports me 40 years in time . . . . Long live us Cousin Jacks/ Jinnies . . . not many of us left now! what a lovely dialect so gentle which sums up the people I grew up with and learned so much from . . . I've been blessed x x x
