Paramount Noveltoon directed by Seymour Kneitel. Featuring The Cat and Buzzy the Crow. Includes the original Noveltoon opening theme. Made by Famous Studios in 1947
I don't know what it is about these prints of old Paramount cartoons and wobbling. Sure, many old unrestored films tend to wobble and shake (due, as I understand it, to the sprocket holes getting enlarged from constant use), but for some reason Paramount cartoons seem to wobble much more aggressively than any other old films I've ever seen anywhere. I don't know why that would be. I can't think of any reason for that.
Here's great news, Famous fans: Thunderbean Animation, the PD company that's released the excellent Private Snafu DVD has announced they'll be releasing a highly requested DVD compilation of "at least 20" restored Noveltoons sometime in late September/early October with this Buzzy gem being one of them. Seems they'll be making restored versions of Chesse Burglar, Naughty But Mice, and Much Ado about Mutton, too!
The cat's voice is essentially Jack Benny to Buzzy's Rochester. I think they hit every big superstition there is, from mirrors to ladders to black cats, in just six minutes.

@sleepyeyedplumber You mean, they can't be from UPN at all?

@masoudfun1996 Theatrical--at least from the best 16mm/35mm reels they can find.

@sleepyeyedplumber You mean the original versions from UPN? Syndication? or just theatrical?
