i have to admit, i didn't know anything about hector lavoe until i heard this movie was being made. i hope that a lot of people became fans of lavoe because of this movie. he should not be forgotten.

the movie made 3.2 million it's first weekend and was the #12 movie in the US. that's so good considering it was only showing in 542 theatres.

The movie seemed to be more about Puchi and the drugs. He had problems but what about his music? They didn't focus enough on that. J Lo had to be the star. If the truth couldn't be told, someone else should have done the movie. J Lo even had to put a song on the soundtrack rather than another Hector song. Would have been nice to put a song with Hectors voice and Marcs together. It's sad.

a marc and hector duet would've been nice and i agree about the jlo song, it didn't even fit in with the soundtrack. i love her, but when i heard her song at the end of the CD i was like "random!" haha

OMG!!! Leon Ichaso did a brilliant film...did a lot of stuff in the 80's working with Michael Mann so Ichaso knows his shit..geez you guys must be sooooo young! LOL!! As for the soundtrack? Just let me say that going over the GGBridge in my 911 to Marin with the soundtrack blasting is the best!!! This movie-soundtrack-edits-cinemat­ography-everything about it was the definitive history of salsa 101 and should be required study....l8trr
