Shen Yun Performing Arts presentation of traditional Chinese culture, and their reflection of contemporary Chinas struggle for freedom, has stirred something inside the hearts of audience members in San Diego.
[Ms. Sachs, Entrepreneur]:
It was very interesting to see the culture, the early cultures. And also the dance from back then And also the fight and the struggle for freedom, to get away from communism. And the warmth of the Buddhist religion as compared to what is happening now, the struggle for freedom. Im for it.
Mr. Allen, a local teacher, is so fond of Chinese culture he even has a Chinese name: Tian, meaning heaven.
[Mr. Allen, Teacher]:
I really enjoyed all the beautiful colors. I enjoyed the music and everything. It was wonderful. The part I probably liked best was where the thunderbolt came down and destroyed that building from the communist party I hope that some day China will be free from that form of evil.
Mr. Bernens teaches comparative religion to high school students. He says Shen Yun did a great job representing Chinas contemporary struggle for freedom.
[Mr. Bernens, Teacher]:
But it also gave hope. And I think that is part of the resilience of China. That what I have seen and what I continue to understand from what I read, that people are strong. In the midst of oppression and repression from their government, as long as they hold strong to their culture, their traditions, their religion, they will survive this. Very resilient people. Very rich and beautiful culture.
NTD, San Diego.
NTDTV's official YouTube Channel got taken down for some weird reason, so I thought it would be a good time to upload some of their noteworthy videos again and it's also to remind you guys that you can actually still find ALL their programming on their website: http://english.ntdtv.com - So just cause Google is probably bowing to China again doesn't mean they are gone - go visit their website, they don't only have news on human rights in China, but have 24 hour programming with live streaming.
Shen Yun shows the genuine Chinese culture which is over 5000 years old. It's the only show like this since the Communist Party came from the west and violently overthrew China. Since then all other Chinese shows where in only one color: red. Yet your calling the only Chinese show not influenced by the Communist Party, propaganda?
Well i guess from the viewpoint the communist Party wants people to have everything that isn't Communist Propaganda would certainly be labeled as propaganda...
